One, different in nature
1. Oil cylinder: The oil cylinder generally refers to a hydraulic cylinder (mechanical equipment), a hydraulic actuator that converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and performs linear reciprocating motion (or swing motion).
2. Cylinder: It is a cylindrical metal part that guides the piston to reciprocate linearly in the cylinder.

Two, the characteristics are different
1. Oil cylinder: When used to realize reciprocating movement, the deceleration device can be eliminated, and there is no transmission gap, and the movement is stable.
2. Cylinder: Air converts thermal energy into mechanical energy through expansion in the engine cylinder; the gas is compressed by the piston in the compressor cylinder to increase the pressure.

Three, different applications
1. Oil cylinder: widely used in hydraulic systems of various machines
2. Cylinder: printing (tension control), semiconductor (spot welding machine, chip grinding), automatic control, robot, etc.
