Proportional pressure reducing valves, also known as proportional pressure regulators or electronic pressure regulators or electrical proportional valves, maintain a constant output pressure within a pressurized system even if the pressure entering the proportional valve fluctuates. Mechanical manual regulators are often only adjustable manually, limiting their usefulness in high-tech applications. When using an electronic pressure regulator with a digital control system, the precise output pressure can be controlled by slight adjustments to the control signal.
An internal pressure sensor creates a true closed loop control device and provides a feedback voltage of the current output pressure. By reading this feedback signal from the electronic regulator, the control system can make real-time adjustments that greatly improve consistent pressure regulation in the most demanding applications.
